Brooklyn, NY---The Brooklyn College Women's Basketball Team came up short in an attempt to climb the CUNYAC standings as they fell to second place Baruch on Tuesday evening, 57-44. The Bearcats improve to 8-4, 5-1 CUNYAC, while the Bulldogs drop to 7-4 and 3-2 in conference play.

The game was a defensive battle that Brooklyn led early after taking 2-0 and 4-2 leads, but Baruch would battle back and take a 23-13 advantage with 3:09 remaining after Iyana Abrams would sink two free throws.

Brooklyn would make a run of their own in the final three minutes of the half, as a Megan Campbell three-pointer would cap an 11-2 run and cut the defeicit to one, 25-24 at the intermission.

The Bearcats started the second half on a 9-0 run to take a 34-24 lead, to which the Bulldogs responded with a 12-6 run to cut into the lead once again to get within four, 40-36, however that was as close as they would get, ending the team's four-game win streak.

Baruch was led by Abrams' 16 points and four steals, while Brooklyn was led by Campbell's 13 points and three blocks. T'Keyah Francis grabbed a team-high 10 boards for BC.

"We never got into a flow offensively," said Brooklyn Head Coach Alex Lang. "Credit Baruch for playing some tough defense and not allowing us many easy looks."

Up next for Brooklyn will be another conference contest, this time on the road, as BC travels to John Jay on Friday for a 5 pm start.
