Concordia Texas' Tyler Compton tabbed American Southwest Conference Player of the Week

RICHARDSON, Texas – Concordia University Texas senior Tyler Compton has been selected as the American Southwest Conference (ASC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday by the league office.

Compton poured in a career-high 33 points and handed out seven assists in the Tornados' 84-77 loss to rival Mary Hardin-Baylor last Saturday. The 5-foot-4 guard was 13-of-23 from the floor, including 1-for-2 from behind the three-point line. She also hit six of her 10 attempts from the charity stripe, tallied three steals and a pair of rebounds.

The Lafayette, La., native leads the ASC with 21.4 points per game. She also ranks second in the league with 5.1 assists per outing and fifth in field goal percentage (.561).

Compton and the rest of the Concordia Texas (4-3) squad will return to action on Monday, Dec. 30 against Texas Lutheran. The non-conference tilt is slated to tip off at 5:30 p.m. at Concordia Fieldhouse.
