Balance Leads to 6th Straight Win for Cavaliers

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Cabrini women's basketball team extended its win streak to six games with tonight's 87-27 win at Notre Dame (Md.) University.  The victory improved the Cavaliers to 6-1 on the season and 2-0 in CSAC play.

The Blue and White displayed a balanced attack tonight, as all 16 players saw between 10-18 minutes of action.  Fifteen players scores at least one point and 15 grabbed at least one rebound in the win.

Sophomore Kristine Startare led the way with a career high 12 points in just 11 minutes on the court.  Senior Brittany Sandone added 11 points, while senior Maggie McElroy and junior Amber Keys tallied 10 points each, marking a career high for the senior.

Cabrini held the Gators to just eight field goals on the night and 17% shooting.  The Cavaliers forced 38 turnovers and converted them into 45 points. 

The Blue and White shot just 41.2% from the floor but claimed 33 offensive rebounds and 21 second chance points.  Overall, Cabrini outrebounded Notre Dame (Md.) 61-43.  Freshman Meghan Horn grabbed a team high eight boards in 11 minutes, while senior Annie Rivituso and freshman Renee Oliver and Tayler Holmes grabbed five each.

The Cavaliers will return to action on Saturday as they visit Langhorne, Pa. to face Cairn University.  The CSAC tilt will tip at 1:00 p.m.
