La Plume, PA – Jazmyn Robinson (Hyattsville, MD/Northwestern) scored 24 points and Chantel Blake (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) finished with a double-double to lead Keystone College to an 89-86 win over Neumann University in the Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball opener for both teams on Monday night.  The Giants improve to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play with their first-ever victory over Neumann while the Knights fall to 2-3 on the year and 0-1 in league action.

Keystone scored the first seven points of Monday night's game and built a 14-3 lead just over five minutes into the contest on a layup by Robinson.  Neumann cut their deficit to as few as seven points before the Giants built their biggest lead of the period, 17 points, on a lay-in by AAliya Hayes (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) with 7:12 remaining.  The Knights used an 11-0 run to narrow their deficit to 41-36 with 2:22 left in the half, but Keystone would take a 46-38 lead into halftime after Alyssa Cuomo (Odessa, DE/Hodgson Vo-tech) hit a three-pointer with 14 seconds showing on the clock.

Robinson led Keystone with 13 points in the first half while Ashley Evans (Wooster, OH/Wooster) added nine points.  Cuomo chipped in eight points in seven rebounds in the opening 20 minutes of play for the Giants, who shot 48.8 percent from the floor for the period including a 35.7 percent effort from beyond the arc.

Erica Marvel paced Neumann's offense in the first half with 12 points while JoHanna Metzger contributed nine points in the opening stanza.  The Knights shot 37.5 percent from the floor in the half including a 31.6 percent effort from three-point range.

Neumann opened the second half with 10-2 run to take the lead, 49-48, on a three-pointer by Lauren Walker at the 16:28 mark.  Robinson responded with a trey of her own to put Keystone back in front and the Giants pushed their lead to as many as seven points with 12:07 remaining.  The Knights battled back and built a 73-67 advantage with 5:58 to play, but Keystone countered with 12-0 run to claim a 79-73 lead with 3:25 left on the clock.

Neumann battled back again and claimed an 86-85 lead with 36 seconds remaining on a layup by Colleen Hinde, but Robinson again put Keystone ahead by making good on a pair of free throws with 27 seconds left.  The junior guard then was fouled after a steal and hit one of two from the line to push the host's lead to 89-86 and a three-point attempt by the Knights at the buzzer would not go, giving Keystone the win.

Robinson finished with a team-high 24 points to go along with eight assists and seven rebounds.  Blake added a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds while Cuomo finished the night with 15 points and nine boards.
