RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's basketball team improved to 3-1 on the young season with today's 73-58 victory over No. 25 Widener University at Nerney Field House.  The victory extended the Blue and White's home win streak to 16 regular season games, dating back to the 2011-12 campaign.

Widener jumped out to an early 7-2 lead before Cabrini took its first lead of the game at 8-7.  The lead was short-lived as the Pride connected on a three pointer on its next possession to regain the lead.  Trailing 15-14 with 8:48 until halftime, the Keys and Sandone hit three consecutive free throws to send Cabrini on an 10-1 run and a lead it would not relinquish.

Freshman Renee Oliver's lay-up in the final minute of the half extended Cabrini's lead to 12 points by a Widener just before the buzzer sent the teams into the break with the Blue and White up 36-26.  Over the final 8:48 of the half, the Cavaliers outscored the Pride 22-11.

The Cavaliers showed no let down after the break, as Rivituso blocked a Widener three point attempt 13 seconds into the half and Cabrini connected a pair of lay-ups to extend its lead to 40-26.

The Pride got as close as 58-49 with 5:46 to play before the Cavaliers went on a 9-0 run over the next 2:19 to extend its lead to 67-49 with less than four minutes to play.
