MAHWAH, NJ (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's basketball team were led by DeAndra Scott, who scored 24 points and ripped down 12 rebounds in a 70-63 defeat to the host Ramapo Roadrunners Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the Roadrunners Tip-Off Tournament from Bill Bradley Sports and Recreation Complex.  The loss sends the Panthers to 0-2 on the young season while Ramapo evens up at 1-1.

The game was tied five times in opening 20 minutes as both team combined for five lead changes, trading baskets in the early going.  Knotted a 4-4, Scott sank the front end of a trip to the free throw line for Old Westbury's first lead of the game with 16:41 showing on the first half clock.  Ramapo regained the lead briefly at the 12:19 mark on a jumper by Tierney Henderson to make it a 9-8 game.    Old Westbury would twice hold its largest leads of the game when a Raven Price jumper with seven minutes left and a three ball by Clarissa Gallagher made it a 31-26 with 42 second remaining.  Ramapo's Kelly Haspel hit a jumper with nine seconds left in the half to head into the half down 31-28.

Ramapo scored the opening four points to start the second half and a jumper by Scott gave Old Westbury back a 33-32 lead.  Henderson retaliated with a jumper of her own to put Ramapo in front before Nikki Alexander countered with a jumper for Old Westbury's final lead of the game (35-34) with 18:24 remaining.  Moments later, Alexander sank a jumper to knot the game at 37-all.  From there, it was all Ramapo, as the Roadrunners stayed in front the rest of the way, going up by as many as nine points on three occasions.  Down 64-55 with 3:33 left, Jasmine Robinson hit a jumper to spark a 7-0 Panther run which Scott contributed five of her 14 second half points to.  In the end, the deficits proved to be to much as Ramapo outscored the Panthers 6-1 over the final 47 seconds to hold on for the home win.

In 35 minutes of action, Scott grabbed four steals and blocked one shot in addition to her 25th career double-double.  Gallagher followed with 10 points on three-of-six shooting from three point territory while Re'auna Dorner recorded a career-high six assists.

Kellie Lane led Ramapo with 21 points (7-12 FG) and 13 rebounds off the bench while Micaela Moore went for 17 points, 10 rebounds and four steals.

Ramapo outshot Old Westbury, 40.4 percent (21-52 FG) to 35.8 percent (24-67 FG) from the field.  Old Westbury land just 4-of-21 from beyond the arc (19%) and 11-of-22 from the free throw line (50%).  Ramapo made up the difference in points from the line, converting 26-of-41 attempts (63.4%).  Ramapo won the boards battle, 51-40.  Old Westbury pressured Ramapo into 24 turnovers, which were converted into 20 points.
