Alicia Kimmel scored a career-high 27 points and the Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team pulled away from D'Youville in the second half Monday night for a 67-52 victory.

It was the Panthers' third straight win, but it did not come easy. Pitt-Bradford managed to shoot just 31 percent in the first half, missing several layups along the way, and went into the break tied with the Spartans at 25-all.

In the second half, Kimmel and Allison Osborne shouldered the scoring load, helping put the Spartans away for good. Leading by four, Kimmel scored on three straight trips, igniting a 20-8 scoring burst by the Panthers for a 51-39 lead. All 20 points were scored by either Kimmel or Osborne.

Pitt-Bradford used the free throw line to add to its advantage, going 14-17 from the stripe in the second half and 19-22 overall. Geena Sneeringer's layup with 2:46 left stretched the lead to 19, the largest of the evening, and the Panthers worked the clock the rest of the way to move into a tie for third-place in the AMCC.

The Blue and Gold only shot 36 percent and failed to hit a three-pointer, but scored 20 points off 14 Spartan turnovers and 23 second-chance points. The women doubled up D'Youville on the boards, 52-26, and collected a season-high 27 offensive rebounds. The Spartans hit on 40 percent of their attempts.

Kimmel was 9-19 from the field, 9-10 from the line and a rebound shy of her third double-double this season. Osborne finished with 16 points, including 14 in the second half, and Sneeringer recorded her team-leading fourth double-double with 10 points and 12 boards. Madison Krebs added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Pitt-Bradford improves to 13-9 on the season and 11-5 in the AMCC. The Panthers host Medaille Wednesday at 6 p.m.
