Both the Beavers and the Badgers shot 32 percent from the field, but that wasn't the most telling statistics on the boxscore. After a see-saw first half with four lead changes and two ties, UMaine-Farmington eventually opened up an 11-point halftime lead, 31-20. A 15-2 run by the Beavers lasting nearly seven minutes helped guide UMF to the comfortable lead at the break.

The Beavers dominated play in the second half, with Johnson State just briefly cutting the margin to single digits for one possession. UMF's lead reached its widest at 27 points, 70-43, following a layup by guard Shelbee Lancaster (Dexter, Maine/Dexter Regional) with 1:10 to play.
