EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Senior Sarah Bingea (Delano, Minn.) reached 1,000 points in her career as the UW-Eau Claire women's basketball team defeated UW-Stout 81-70 on Ken Anderson Court in Zorn Arena tonight.

Bingea needed just 13 points coming into tonight's game to reach the milestone and with just over three minutes remaining in the game, she hit two free throws to put her at 1,000 points. She is just the 16th Blugold in history to reach the mark.

While the Blugolds started the game outscoring Stout 8-2 over the first three minutes, the Blue Devils used a 9-0 run to take a one-point lead at 13:11.

Cady Roedl (Fr.-Beaver Dam, Wis.) then hit a three-pointer, which began a 19-6 run over the next nine minutes and the Blugolds went up by 12 (29-17). Eau Claire never looked back after that.

Eau Claire led by double-digits most of the second half and the Blugolds reached their largest lead of the night at 18 points midway through the final half. The closest Stout got after that was nine points with just over a minute to play.

Roedl led the Blugolds with 18 points while Leah Rempert (Sr.-Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) added 16 and Bingea scored 13. Bingea finished with a double-double as she also pulled down 10 rebounds, and she also tied for a game-high four assists.

Eau Claire outshot the Blue Devils from the field, 43.9 percent (25-for-57) to 32.8 percent (21-for-64). Stout outrebounded the Blugolds 46-42, including 24-13 on the offensive end.

The Blugolds are now 10-13 overall and 5-9 in the WIAC. Stout drops to 10-13 on the season and 4-10 in conference play. Today's game was also senior and alumni day for the Blugolds.

Wednesday the Blugolds will be at UW-Platteville for a game beginning at 7 p.m.
