The Baruch College Bearcats saw their eight-game winning streak come to an end on Monday night with a 71-51 defeat at Brooklyn College.

The conference contest was competitive throughout the first half and the start of the second, but Brooklyn erupted offensively in the final 10 minutes to defeat the visiting Bearcats for the second consecutive year on their home victory.

The game began to take shape midway through second half as Brooklyn scored eleven straight points to turn a 43-42 lead into 54-42 advantage with 7:32 left.

The Bearcats (20-2, 13-1 CUNYAC) could not recover from that run as Brooklyn would eventually build their lead to 18 points (66-48) with four minutes left en route to the conference victory. Overall, Brooklyn (16-5, 11-2 CUNYAC) outscored the Bearcats, 28-9, over the final 10 minutes.

The Bearcats struggled shooting 31.3 percent (21-for-67) from the field and committed 22 turnovers that led to 17 points by Brooklyn.

Brooklyn shot 41.7 percent (24-for-57), which included a pivotal 7-for-16 from three-point range and a perfect 16-for-16 from the free throw line.

Jessica Dulebaled the Bearcats again with 16 points and five rebounds. Sheridan Taylor, the CUNYAC Player of the Week, totaled 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots.

Vanessa D'Ambrosi led Brooklyn with 23 points, nine rebounds and six steals.

Baruch will return to action on Wednesday, February 6, with a 5:30 pm non-conference home contest against Mount St. Mary in the popular "Battle of Lexington".
