Williams Pours in 14 but Dolphins Down Beavers

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Syreeta Williams was 7-of-11 from the field and finished with 14 points but the balanced Dolphins attack allowed the College of Staten Island (11-9, 8-3 CUNYAC) to defeat the City College of New York (4-16, 4-8 CUNYAC), 78-47, on Wednesday evening in the second game of a doubleheader at the College of Staten Island Sports and Recreation Center.
 
Latoya Lee, making her first start since Jan. 5 at NYU-Poly, added 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting and Joyce Li scored six points on two jumpers from beyond-the-arc.
 
CSI took a commanding 46-17 lead heading into halftime and forced 33 Beaver turnovers and scored 36 points off of turnovers. The Dolphins bench was strong all evening, pouring 34 points to provide a much needed breather for CSI's starting five.
 
The Beavers return to Nat Holman Gymnasium for CCNY's Fourth Annual Alumni Day on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m.
