William Paterson Women’s Basketball Can’t Get Past No. 11/12 Montclair State

MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Junior guard Floriana Borova (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) scored a game-high 24 points, but the William Paterson women's basketball team (13-6, 7-4 NJAC) could not get past No. 11/12 Montclair State (19-0, 11-0), 75-62, Jan. 23.

 

Borova added four assists and a team-best seven assists, and sophomore forward Ashley Marfo (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) had 10 tallies.  Junior forward Dana Jeter (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert) contributed nine points, 11 rebounds and five assists.

 

The 13-point final margin was the smallest of the season for the undefeated Red Hawks, who owned a 41-32 advantage at the break and led by as many as 19 (58-39, 9:55) in the second half.

 

Janitza Aquino led MSU with 20 points, Shalette Brown had 19 tallies and 10 rebounds, and Melissa Tobie finished with 17 points.

 

William Paterson will host Rowan Saturday, Jan. 26, at 1:00 p.m.
