NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The College of New Rochelle and New Jersey City University played a physical game, combining for 40 team fouls, tonight at The Wellness Center, with the Gothic Knights emerging with a 73-60 win.

After NJCU ran off the first seven points of the game, the Blue Angels responded with a 10-2 run to take 10-9 lead with 12:45 left in the first half. The Knights regained the lead and used a 15-2 run to turn a 13-12 lead into a 28-14 lead, their largest of the first half.  CNR made a late run to bring the deficit to nine, 39-30, at the break.
The NJCU lead never grew to more than 10 over the first 10 minutes of the second half until the Knights used an 11-1 run to take their largest lead of the night, 17 points, with 8:59 to play.  The Blue Angels whittled the lead down to eight, 65-57, with 3:43 left, but did not draw any closer.
Alyssa Pechin led all scorers with 21 points, adding a team-high five assists.  Jasmine Brandon added 16 points and eight rebounds.  Tra'Leassa King chipped in with eight points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
 
Ashley Vazquez and Kiana Briggs each tallied 14 points to pace the NJCU offense.
