Leopards Post Win; First-Year Players Continue Solid Play for Beavers

LA VERNE, CA – The La Verne's women's basketball squad, the SCIAC's highest scoring offense tallied a 105-45 win over Caltech on Thursday evening.

It was the fourth time this season the Leopards have scored over 100 points in a game. The consistently high scoring offense has now scored at least 90 points in six straight and 10 of the last 11 games. La Verne came into the game as the nation's fifth highest scoring team.

La Verne, who ranks third in the country in three-pointers per game, nailed 18 shots from behind the arc. It was the seventh time this year they hit at least 10 shots from distance in a game.

For the 11th time this season Stephanie Wong was Caltech's leading scorer. The first-year, who came into the game as the league's top scoring rookie, tallied 16 points in 33 minutes of court time. Anne Chen, another first-year for the Beavers, scored a personal best eight points.

In addition, the five first-year players for Caltech combine to score 38 points.

Lindsay Foster had a game high 20 points while Megan Musashi chipped in a 19-point evening to pace the home squads scoring effort
