The Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team erased an 11-point deficit in the second half of its contest against Mount Aloysius Saturday to rally for a 68-63 victory in the closing minutes.

The Mounties led by six at the break after shooting 50 percent from the floor and hitting four three-pointers. Lindsay Sammarco's trey with 3:08 left in the half gave the Mounties their largest lead of the day at 35-23. Pitt-Bradford would claw back, scoring the final five points of the period to trail 36-30.

Mount Aloysius slowly added to its advantage in the second, pushing the lead to 11 on Teddi Burkett's jumper with 11:15 remaining. Geena Sneeringer scored on the Panthers' ensuing possession, and following a turnover, Allison Osborne hit a three-pointer to pull the Panthers within six at 52-46. Two free throws by Alicia Kimmel carved into the lead, and after the teams exchanged three-pointers, Kimmel hit a jumper to make it a two-point ballgame with 6:55 left.

Carly Dalton's three with 4:25 left trimmed the Mountie lead to 59-58, and Osborne tied it moments later with a free throw. Sammarco and Kimmel exchanged free throws, and after a Mount Aloysius foul, Kimmel hit another free throw push Pitt-Bradford ahead 62-61 with 1:51 remaining.

Mount Aloysius drew a foul on its ensuing possession and hit both free throws to go ahead by one only to see Dalton tie it at the line seconds later. Following a Becky Bard offensive foul, Kimmel grabbed the rebound on Dalton's missed jumper and laid it in to give the Panthers a 65-63 lead with 21 seconds remaining.

The Mounties missed on a chance to even the score and Abby Brate hit a pair at the line to ice the win.

Mount Aloysius cooled off in the second half, connecting on just 8-26 attempts to finish the game shooting 41 percent from the floor. Pitt-Bradford only hit on 40 percent of its attempts, but went 17-23 from the line and forced 24 turnovers. The Mounties outrebounded the Panthers by 15 and scored 21 second-chance points.

Kimmel had a game-high 24 points, including going 10-12 from the line, and Sneeringer added 18 points and five steals. Osborne finished with 13 points, hitting three three-pointers, and Dalton had 11.

Pitt-Bradford improves to 7-6 on the season and 5-2 in the AMCC. The Panthers play at Medaille Monday.
