PUERTO RICO -- The Babson College women's basketball team suffered its first defeat of the season in Puerto Rico on Tuesday, as the 20th-ranked Beavers fell to top-ranked DePauw, 59-36. Babson is now 8-1 with the loss, while the Tigers remained undefeated on the year at 8-0.

The Beavers were led in defeat by senior captain Sarah Collins, who finished with 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field and a 3-of-4 clip from the line. No other Babson player managed to hit double figures, however, as the Green and White were held to just 12 points in the first half and a season-low 36 for the game. First-year Megan Otto turned in a strong all-around performance, finishing with six points, eight rebounds, and three assists, while sophomore Nikki Heavern netted six points.

DePauw received nine points apiece from Savannah Trees, Allison Stephens, and Emma Ondik, as well as nine rebounds from Stephens. The Tigers shot just 34.2 percent (26-76) from the field but were aided by 29 offensive rebounds and 11 steals.

Babson will finish its trip with a contest against Metropolitan University of Puerto Rico tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET.
