BUFFALO, NY— Ashley Wallace (Lockport/Starpoint) netted a career-high 22 points and added eight rebounds, but Buffalo State (4-6) fell short against visiting University of Rochester (8-2), 71-58, in a non-conference game today at the Sports Arena.

Shay Jackson (Syracuse/Henninger) added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Bengals, and Kala Crawford (Middle Falls/Saratoga Springs) had nine points and six boards, each coming off the bench.

The Yellowjackets jumped out to a 16-6 lead.  Buffalo State put together a 12-1 late in the opening half and briefly led, before Rochester nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to take a 30-28 advantage into the intermission.  The Bengals last lead came at 43-42 with just over 12 minutes remaining, but Rochester pushed the lead back to double-digits and claimed the win. 

The Yellowjackets outscored Buffalo State 18-3 from 3-point range and 25-5 at the free throw line.  Rochester was 25 of 38 at the charity stripe, while the Bengals were just 5 of 8.  Rochester also held a 49-37 rebounding advantage.

Buffalo State will play another home non-conference game on Wednesday against Pitt-Bradford at 6 p.m.
