MADISON, N.J. – The Manhattanville women's basketball had its five-game non-conference winning streak snapped at the hands of the Drew Rangers by a score of 80-50 on Thursday afternoon from the Baldwin Center.

Drew started off the game up by an 8-0 score before senior Taylor Wilson (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) ended the run with a three-pointer from top of the arc to make the score 3-8. As play continued in the early stages of the half sophomore Bri Pabon(Newington, Conn./Newington) sank a long-range two from the left corner as Manhattanville pulled back within four at 6-10 with 15:28 to go in the half.

Pabon hit a three pointer from left elbow to cut the lead again down to four at 12-16, but Drew continued to dominate play in the first half with a balanced scoring attack. After an 11-0 run by the Rangers, sophomore Shayna Robinson (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) ended the longest dry spell of the half. After a full timeout by Manhattanville with 4:18 to go, Pabon hit a pair of floaters to cut Drew's 36-point lead in half.

The Rangers closed out the half with an 18-point lead as Manhattanville shot a meager 24.2% from the floor in contrast to Drew's 41.2% from the field.

The Valiants woes continued into the second half as Drew's lead expanded to 30 with 7:15 gone by in the second period. Manhattanville went on a brief 7-0 run to trim the lead back down to 23, but Drew responded once again and pushed the lead up to 31 points with 2:50 to go.

Another three-pointer with 18 seconds to go, put the final exclamation point on Drew's convincing 30-point victory.

Individually, sophomore Alyson Caiazzo (Brooklyn, N.Y/St. Saviour) had yet another double-double as she finished the game with 17 points, including 13 points in the second half, and 13 rebounds. Robinson also had 17 points, while Pabon had 11 points on the game.

The Valiants as a team shot 30.3% for the game, nearly 20 percent fewer than the home team as the Rangers shot 48.4%. Manhattanville also struggled from beyond the arc, going only 2-for-10 on the afternoon, while Drew shot 8-of-19.

Manhattanville (6-4) wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule and will open up the 2013 half of their season with a contest against Old Westbury on January 5 at 1:00 p.m. from Kennedy Gym in Purchase, N.Y. Drew (3-7) will play once more this year when the Rangers host the Pioneers of Utica at 4:00 p.m. on December 29.
