GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Richard Stockton ended Gwynedd-Mercy's five-game win streak Tuesday night at the Griffin Complex as the Griffins fell, 72-56, to the Ospreys in the team's final game before the holiday break.

Sophomore Shea Wassel collected her third double-double of the year, finishing with 11 point and 11 rebounds, the Griffins (6-3) shot just 31.1% from the floor, a season low.

Richard Stockton's Che'Na Thompson was two assists shy of a triple-double, registering 13 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists. She was one of four Ospreys in double figures.

Gwynedd missed their first 10 shots of the contest, getting off to a rough start offensively, but the Griffin defense kept the score close. Sophomore Kristen Fuery would connect from downtown for the team's first field goal to cut the deficit to 6-5 at the 12:51 mark. Later a steal and fast break bucket from Wassel and a jumper from Fuery gave GM a 14-10 edge, but the Ospreys answered with eight-straight points over the next two and a half minutes.

Thompson fed Alexa Ryan to beat the halftime buzzer to give Stockton a 33-25 lead at the break. After the teams traded three-pointers to start the second, the Ospreys netted seven points in a row to go up 43-28 early in the frame. Gwynedd was only able to whittle the deficit to 10 on two occasions, the last coming with 9:20 remaining, but could draw no closer.

Ryan finished with a game-high 14 points for RSC (5-2). Teammate Ta'Yon Morgan-Jones added 12 and Kelsey Brown chipped in 10.

Junior Nicole Dougherty was the only other Griffin in double figures with 10 points. Fuery totaled eight points and five assists. Gwynedd was outrebounded for the contest, 52-38, and for the third game in a row.

Gwynedd-Mercy (6-3) will resume action next month when they travel to Gettysburg to play in the Days Inn Classic on January 2nd and 3rd. GM will battle Salisbury on the 2nd in an 8 p.m. start.
