GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Brittany Atwater's traditional three-point play with 19 seconds left in regulation lifted visiting Guilford College to a 54-50 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win at Virginia Wesleyan College Saturday.

Virginia Wesleyan's Sarah Seipp made a three-pointer with 47 seconds remaining, her lone basket in 12 shots, which tied the game at 50-50. Atwater scored from close range 19 seconds left and fouled in the act. The Quakers called time out and afterwards, Atwater made her free throw, putting the Quakers up 53-50. Seipp missed a three at the other end, Nancy Kelly got the rebound, but turned the ball over.

Virginia Wesleyan fouled Morgan King in desperation to get the ball back with four seconds left. She made one of two free throws to seal the win.

Guilford's Gabby Oglesby scored 13 second-half points to help the Quakers (7-2, 2-1 ODAC) bounce back from a 26-20 halftime deficit. Guilford managed just 22.9% shooting from the floor in the first half, but connected on 51.7% of its second-half shots. The game was tight from the tip, as the Quakers never led by more than four and never trailed by more than seven.

Oglesby had game-highs in points (16) and rebounds (15). King contributed 12 points and 12 boards. The frontcourt tandem also had two blocks apiece and notched their second double-doubles of the season. Brittany Drew added nine points. Atwater totaled five points, five assists and eight rebounds. Kayla Adams dished out five assists.

Kelly Jones paced the Marlins (5-4, 2-1 ODAC) with 13 points and three rebounds off the bench. Brittany Glasco added nine points and five assists. Katie Tassa snatched eight rebounds.

Following a break for exams, Guilford visits Hood College (12/15) and Marymount (Va.) University (12/16).
