Borova Scores 30 as William Paterson Women’s Basketball Rolls, 85-62

GLASSBORO, N.J. – Junior guard Floriana Borova (Cresskill, N.J./Cresskill) scored 30 points and the William Paterson women's basketball team (5-3, 3-2 NJAC) rolled to an 85-62 conference road victory at Rowan (3-5, 0-4 NJAC) Dec. 8.

 

Borova added six assists and five rebounds, while junior forward Dana Jeter (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert) posted 16 tallies, eight boards and five steals.  Sophomore forward Ashley Marfo (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) had 13 points and a team-best nine rebounds, and senior guard Lindsey Callander (Branchburg, N.J./Somerville) chipped in nine tallies.

 

A 13-0 run late in the first half turned a one-point lead into a 14-point advantage (40-26, 4:00), and the Pioneers owned a 47-34 edge by halftime.  A 21-4 second-half burst handed WP its largest lead of the game at 71-44 with 8:20 remaining.

 

The Pioneers shot 43.0 (34-79) percent from the field, including a 7-for-17 (.412) effort from behind the arc, while turning 27 Prof turnovers into 30 points.

 

Bria Hill led Rowan with 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Eyandra Molina added 16 tallies.

 

William Paterson will host Kean Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 6:00 p.m.
