GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Gabby Oglesby scored 16 points to lead Guilford College past William Peace University Wednesday night, 55-45, in a nonconference women's basketball game.

The Quakers (6-2) trailed, 9-1, after the first five minutes of play, but recovered and gained their first lead with 4:51 left in the half thanks in part to rookie Lila Scott's eight points off the bench. Guilford's Logan Hardin scored five points in the remaining time, which helped the Quakers to a 24-23 halftime lead.

The Pacers (2-5) answered with a 7-0 run to start the second-half. Two Kayla Adams three-pointers brought Guilford within one. The teams traded the lead until Jaclyn Nucci scored the Quakers' go-ahead basket with 4:20 left on the clock.

Guilford out-rebounded the Pacers, 59-29, and outscored Peace, 17-2, in second-chance points.

Hardin had 10 points and 11 rebounds, her second double-double of the season. Oglesby had game-high 14 rebounds, her first double-double of the season. Teammate Morgan King added 10 rebounds, seven points and a game-high eight assists. Brittany Atwater dished out six assists.

Crystal Alston paced William Peace with a game-high 17 points, four rebounds and four assists. Derrica Jones had team-high six rebounds and chipped in six points. Rachel Lyons scored nine points and Meghan Luffman tallied game-high four blocks.

The Quakers resume Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Saturday at Virginia Wesleyan College at 4:00 p.m.
