Marymount Women’s Hoops Tops Susquehanna

Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's women's basketball team picked up another non-conference win with a 66-40 victory over visiting Susquehanna on Wednesday night.  The Saints move to 3-2 on the season before beginning Capital Athletic Conference play this weekend.

 

Katelyn Fischer led the Saints and all scorers with 19 points to go with six rebounds, five assists and four steals.  Tynisha Parks added 12 points while Aileen Maknati chipped in eight.

 

Samantha Kane and Kievanna Lacey both scored seven points with Kane hauling in eight boards and Lacey seven.  Kane also recorded four assists as well.

 

Marymount was dominant inside once again, outscoring the Crusaders 32-10 in the paint and outrebounding SU 36-26 on the glass.  Also showing a deft touch from outside, the Saints converted 54.5 percent of their shots from three-point range to go with 47.3% from the floor.

 

Gina Palazza led Susquehanna (1-4) with 11 points.

 

Marymount returns to action in its CAC opener on the road at Wesley on Saturday afternoon.
