Gallaudet women's team improves shooting but drops contest against Wells

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Gallaudet University women's basketball team poured in 30 points in the second half as the Bison outscored Wells College 30-27 but came up short, 63-50, in Sunday's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game at the Field House.

Gallaudet (3-10, 1-6 NEAC South Division) reached the 50-point plateau for the first time in five games in the second game of a four-game homestand. Freshman guard Claire Tucker (Middletown, Md.) came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points while sophomore guard Britny Latham (Cleveland, Tenn.) scored nine points, three assists. Freshman forward Elena Ciccarelli (Whitesboro, N.Y.) grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds and added seven points and three steals. Sophomore guard Stephanie Weiss (Wellington, Fla.) made a return as she scored seven points for the buff and blue. The Bison bench outscored the Express 30-11.
