Williamsport, Pa. (Feb. 18, 2012) - Three seniors combined for 53 of 62 points leading Alvernia University (12-13, 5-9) to a 62-54 win over Lycoming College (10-14, 5-9) on the final day of the regular season in Commonwealth Conference women's basketball action at Lamade Gymnasium.

Kelli McIntyre (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) led the way with 25 points for the Crusaders.  Allie Toczylowski (Mantua, N.J./Clearview Regional) scored 16 points and Angela Altemose (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM) added 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Crusaders struggled to get started hitting just two of their first 12 shots, but were fortunate to find themselves in a tie game at 10-all after a 3 from McIntyre.  Alvernia finished the half shooting just 17 percent (6-of-34) including just that one 3 in 12 attempts.  It was fortunate that Lycoming only fared one shot better from the floor and three better from the line and only held a five-point lead at the break, 27-22.

The second half was a bit more promising from the beginning with the Crusaders hitting their first three from the floor to take back the lead then getting a 3 from freshman Mya Lobb (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) for a six point lead, 42-36.

The lead for the Crusaders stayed between four and eight the rest of the way.

Lycoming had a pair of players reach double figures led by 14 from Julia Antonelli.
