The Cadets, improving to 10-13 overall and 5-6 in the league, trailed visiting Simmons (3-18, 1-10 GNAC) 62-46 with under six minutes left. From that point, the Maroon and Gold brought their home crowd inside Andrews Gymnasium to its feet with a 22-3 run to end the game with a 68-65 win.

There were numerous heroes during the stretch roll. Sophomore forward Erin Clark (Newbury, Vt.) hit a pair of clutch free throws just moments after missing a pair and getting a big offensive rebound with 3:13 left that brought the deficit inside 10 and then came back with just over a minute to play and hit a trey. Junior forward Jessalyn Sweeney (Standfordville, N.Y.), en route to her second consecutive and third overall double-double, hit a lay-up and picked up a steal that led to a free throw early in the run, recorded four rebounds and two steals total in the stretch and then salted the game away with two free throws with 13 seconds left. Freshman guard Kelsey Lotti (South Yarmouth, Mass.) chipped in a lay-up, three-pointer and a free throw, and fellow freshman guard Aliah Curry (Windsor, Mass.) added three free throws including two with 13 seconds left that tied the game.

Curry was the band leader of the Cadets' quarter in double figures. Recording her 18th straight double-figure scoring game, she ended with 16 points, three assists and three steals. Lotti ended with 12 points, while Sweeney finished with 10 and 14 rebounds, and senior forward Jocelyn Fasulo (Contoocook, N.H.) turned in 10 points, five rebounds and four blocked shots.

Simmons' strong road effort was topped by 13 points from Liz O'Connor and 11 each from Olivia LaCroix and Leah Davis.

NU, winners of four of its last five with the last four contests being decided by six-points-or-less, faces its final regular season road trip at co-GNAC leading Emmanuel College of Massaachusetts. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
