Georgetown, Texas - Trinity's women's basketball team had to settle for a regular season series split after losing a 74-61 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game at Southwestern University on Saturday afternoon.

Trinity (8-13, 6-6) could never get going offensively, shooting under 30% from the field in both halves.  The Tigers trailed by 19 points (47-28) at halftime, thanks in large part to a 16-2 run by Southwestern in the middle of the period.

That lead ballooned to 27 points after a 10-2 run at the start of the second half, and the Tigers never got closer than 13 points the rest of the way.

Lauren Splawn led Trinity with 13 points in just 11 minutes off the bench, hitting 5-10 field goals and 3-5 three-point attempts.

Anne Waidelich also contributed 11 points off the bench, though she connected on just 4-15 shots.  Murphy Burns was the only other Tiger player in double figures, reaching 10 points on 4-18 shooting.

Hannah Coley had nine points and a team-high eight rebounds for Trinity, also dishing out five assists and swiping five steals.  Libby Kruse chipped in with six points and six boards.

Jordan Owens and Annie Bourne both had double-doubles for the second time against the Tigers.  Owens led the Pirates with 16 rebounds to go with 14 points, while Bourne had 10 of each.  Anna Fareed added 18 points, while Chelsea Leeder led all scorers with 19 points in the game.

Trinity will conclude its regular season home schedule with pair of SCAC games next weekend.  The Tigers will host Hendrix College on Friday evening, followed by a Sunday afternoon tilt against Colorado College.  Trinity trails leaders Southwestern and Colorado College by one game in the SCAC West Division.
