DOVER, Del. - Wesley College's women's basketball team rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to edge Capital Athletic Conference rival Frostburg State, 56-54 on Saturday afternoon at Wentworth Gymnasium.  The win puts the Wolverines at 6-15 overall and 3-9 in the CAC while the Bobcats fall to 5-17 and 3-10 in league play.

All eight players who entered the game for Wesley scored, led by 14 points each by Jazmine Miller and Rachelle Allen.  Miller also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, dished out six assists and stole five balls.  Allen also swiped six balls and she is just three steals away from tying Nicky Benton's single-season school-record of 80.

Down 30-22 at the half, the Wolverines opened the second half blazing and went on a 16-2 run over the first 4:52 of the period.  The Bobcats responded with a three to cut the lead to 38-35 but with 9:28 left to play, Wesley's Haley Thomas was fouled as she drained a three. She also hit the free throw to complete the four-point play, giving Wesley its largest lead at 49-42.

Frostburg would not go away and at the 1:32 mark cut the Wolverines' lead to 55-54.  A free throw by Heather Fuller gave Wesley a 56-54 lead and the Bobcats came up short on a pair of jumpers in their final opportunity.

The Wolverines were outshot 37.7% to 33.3% but the Wolverines made seven treys on the day, led by three by Miller and a pair by Katie Kirk

Wesley returns to action on Wednesday, February 8, when they travel to Marymount (Va.) for a 6 pm conference game.
