POTSDAM, NY—Buffalo State (18-2/11-2) allowed just 18 points in the second half as it pulled away for a 58-40 victory over host Potsdam (4-17/2-11) in a SUNYAC game this afternoon.
Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) netted 15 points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists to lead Buffalo State. Bianca Smiley (Amherst/Sweet Home) also scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds. Divine Sebuharara (Vestal/Vestal) chipped in six points and nine rebounds.
Potsdam jumped out to an early 14-7 lead, but a 12-2 run to close the opening half gave Buffalo State a 26-22 advantage at the intermission. The Bengals scored the first seven points of the second period as well and continued to pull away.
Buffalo State shot 40-percent from the field, while limiting Potsdam to just 26-percent shooting. The Bengals also committed just 11 turnovers and held a 44-35 edge in rebounding.
Buffalo State will look to avenge one of its two losses this season when it hosts Geneseo next Friday at 6 p.m.
