MENOMONIE (February 1, 2012) - Whitney Rawdon (Jr, Eau Claire) scored a bucket, picked up a steal and made two free throws in the final minute of the game to break a 56-all tie as UW-Stout defeated UW-Superior, 60-56, Wednesday at Johnson Fieldhouse.

After coming back from a 27-23 halftime deficit, Stout (5-15, 1-10 WIAC) held as much as an eight point lead through the second half, only to see the Yellowjackets (9-11, 3-9 WIAC) come back to tie the game at 56-56 at 1:18.

Rawdon, who would score a total of five points, slashed to the basket after a pair of Stout misses to give Stout a 58-56 lead with a minute left to play. Fifteen seconds later, Rawdon made a defensive stop with a steal under the Superior basket. The Blue Devils did lose the ball on a turnover, but Stout got another shot at it when Katelynne Folkers (Fr, Fall Creek) pulled down a rebound.

Rawdon was fouled away from the ball as the Blue Devils made their way down court and she drained both free throws to give Stout the final four point lead. The Yellowjackets missed a pair of jumpers in the final 10 seconds.

Stout led for most of the first half, but the Yellowjackets chipped away and built a four-point halftime lead.

Kayla Windt (Jr, Pence) scored five points in the first two-plus minutes of the second half to help Stout whittle away at the lead. Folkers gave Stout a short-lived lead at 16:46. A pair of free throws by Alyse Kamel (Fr, Brooklyn Park, Minn) and a 3-pointer by Haley Froehlich (Fr, Mondovi) gave Stout a lead they would not relinquish

For the second consecutive game, freshman Bethany Reyzer (Altoona) led Stout in scoring, dropping in 13 points. Windt finished the night with 11 points, six rebounds and three assists.

The Yellowjackets got 13 points from Connie Urmanski and 11 from Bri Davis, who also pulled down 11 rebounds. Hailey Hart had 12 rebounds.

Stout will travel to UW-Platteville, Saturday, Feb. 4.
