(GROVE CITY, Pa.) - Sophomore forward Moriah Corey (Louisville, Ky./Butler) recorded her first career double-double with 11 points and a game-high 10 rebounds to lead the Thomas More College women's basketball team to a 66-52 win over Grove City College tonight (Wednesday, January 25, 2012) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Grove City College Arena in Grove City, Pennsylvania.

With the win, the Saints improve to 14-4 overall and 10-1 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Wolverines fall to 4-14 overall and 3-8 in the PAC.

Thomas More took an early 19-9 lead with 9:45 to play in the first half when Corey made two free-throws.  Grove City answered with a 7-0 run capped by a jumper by Hannah Jo Coneby to cut the lead to 19-16 with 8:44 to play in the half.  The Saints responded with a 14-7 run to extend the lead to 35-23 when sophomore guard Devin Beasley (Burlington, Ky./Conner) made a lay-up with 1:24 to play in the opening half.  The Wolverines closed out the first half on a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 35-29 at halftime when Kelsey Shirey made a lay-up with three-seconds to play in the first half.

Thomas More opened the second half on a 10-2 run capped by a three-pointer by sophomore guard Katie Kitchen (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) to extend the lead to 45-31 with15:27 to play in the game.  Grove City answered with a 14-5 run to cut the lead to 50-45 with 8:27 to play in the game when Leah Gibson made a three-pointer.  That would be as close as Grove City would come as Thomas More closed out the game on a 16-7 run for the 66-52 victory.

Corey was joined in double-figure scoring by Kitchen with a game-high 18 points and junior guard Allison Long (Hebron, Ky./Conner) with 16 points.  The Saints were led in assists by Beasley, Long and junior guard Jill Brunsman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mother of Mercy) with four assists each.

Thomas More remains on the road on Saturday (January 28) as it will travel to Washington, Pennsylvania for a 2 p.m. game with PAC rival Washington & Jefferson College.
