CHICAGO -- Led by Taylor Simpson's 18 points and eight rebounds, the second-ranked University of Chicago women's basketball team defeated New York University 77-55 in University Athletic Association action Friday night at the Ratner Athletics Center.
Game Summary
- NYU (9-6 overall, 1-3 UAA) kept the Maroons off the scoreboard for the game's first three minutes before a 25-10 run gave Chicago a 25-14 advantage late in the opening period.
- Chicago (15-0, 4-0) led 35-27 at halftime and maintained a double-digit lead throughout all but the first :08 of the second stanza.
