Millikin Women Edged By Bluejays

          The Millikin women's basketball team lost to conference leading Elmhurst College 72-62 on January 18 in the Griswold Center.  Elmhurst is now 14-2, 5-0 while Millikin falls to 10-6, 2-3.

          The Big Blue controlled the game for much of the first half with the Bluejays using a late rally to make it a 32-30 Millikin advantage at the half. 

          The second half was a back and forth contest before Elmhurst went on a 10-0 run in the game's final two minutes.

          Elmhurst shot 48 percent from the field while the Big Blue only managed to hit on 34 percent of its shots.  Elmhurst out rebounded Millikin 41-39.

          Millikin had a balanced scoring attack with Crystal Zeigler, Olya Cholewick and Heather Pruemer all scoring 13 points each.  Pruemer had a team high six rebounds for the Big Blue.

          Elmhurst's top scorer was Tess Godhardt with 22 points and 10 rebounds.  Megan Ney had 14 points and 10 rebounds.

          Millikin will host North Central College on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 5 p.m.
