QUINCY, Mass. -- Junior forward Beth Suggs (Bath, Maine) poured in a career-best 24 points to power the University of New England women's basketball team in a 61-32 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory over Eastern Nazarene College Tuesday evening.

With the win, UNE (10-3, 5-1 CCC) has now defeated Eastern Nazarene in seven straight meetings. The Lions fall back to the .500 mark at 7-7 (4-3 CCC) with the loss.

Suggs went 8-of-13 from the floor and 8-of-11 from the line on the night to eclipse her previous personal-high by six points, and picked up six rebounds along with three steals.

Seniors Kari Pelletier (South Paris, Maine) and Kelley Paradis (Newport, Maine) finished with nearly identical stat-lines in support, combining for 16 points (8 each), 12 rebounds (6 each), six assists (3 each), seven steals (Pelletier with 4), and three blocks (Paradis with 2).

The Nor'easters defense held ENC to just 24 percent shooting (13-for-54) in the game, and forced more than 28 turnovers (31) for the third consecutive outing.

Tied at 4-4 after three minutes of action, Big Blue reeled off 15 unanswered points in 7:24 to assume control of the contest (19-4). Suggs notched the first seven points of the match for UNE, and Paradis recorded the next eight on her own.

Suggs ended the half with 16, and all eight of her free throws, as the visitors took a 37-13 cushion into the break.

The margin swelled to as many as 35 (54-19) at the 8:20 mark of the second period and the Nor'easters cruised to victory.

Alexis Malloy had 15 points and six boards to pace the Lions, who host Curry College on Thursday.

UNE also returns to the hardwood on Thursday, welcoming Endicott College into James A. Beaudry Gymnasium (5:30 p.m.) -- the winner leaving with sole possession of first place in the league standings.
