Rhode Island College opened up a 20-13 lead over the first 10 minutes of the first half after back-to-back baskets by sophomore forward Alexia Vega (North Providence, RI), but Trinity scored the next six points and eventually took the lead, 23-21, on a drive by junior forward Heather Lyhne (Wethersfield, CT) with just under five minutes left before the break. |

The Anchorwomen answered with a 9-0 run, including five points by senior guard Cynthia Gaudet (Coventry, RI), and held a 34-26 lead at intermission. Trinity battled in the second half, pulling to within five points at 45-40, with 6:06 remaining on a free throw by senior guard Michelle Royals (Torrington, CT), but Gaudet responded two minutes later with a traditional three-point play. Rhode Island College made nine of 10 shots from the foul line down the stretch to preserve the win. |

Trinity forced the Anchorwomen into 29 turnovers, including 18 in the second half, but could not offset a 29.9 field goal percentage and 20 turnovers of its own. The teams combined to make just five three-pointers in 34 attempts, but Rhode Island College was 21-for-29 from the foul line and the Bantams shot 5-for-10 from the charity stripe. |

Royals and fellow senior co-captain guard Kaitlin Ciarleglio (Waterbury, CT) paced the Bantams in scoring with 14 points apiece, while Ciarleglio also had a team-high nine rebounds, six assists and six steals, and Lyhne contributed seven points, four rebounds, four steals and a blocked shot off the Trinity bench. |
