CRESSON, PA - The Medaille College Women's Basketball team played Mount Aloysius Saturday afternoon and due to their great defense came out with a 76-56 win. After holding the Mounties to (15.6%) from the field, the Mavericks went to halftime leading 34-17. After the half, both teams came out firing, but the Mavericks were able to hold their strong lead and win easily.

Overall, the Lady Mavericks shot (46.7%) from the field and received another big game from Joelle Pollak. She would end the day with (28) points, 5 assists and 2 steals. Also, contributing to the victory was Tanisha Travis who chipped in with (15) rebounds and helped on the defensive end with (5) blocks.

The Mavericks shot 13 of 28 (46.4%) from the three point line and that helped in the victory. For the Mounties, they shot 7 of 31 (22.6%) from the three point line. The Mounties also struggled from the floor overall due to the Mavericks tough defense, helping in the victory.

Tomorrow the Lady Mavs travel to La Roche College for a game at 3:00 p.m.
