Mount Ida rallies past Norwich

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Despite a game-high 27 points by freshman guard Aliah Curry, the Norwich University women's basketball team could not get past Mount Ida, dropping a hard-fought 64-61 decision Saturday afternoon at Andrews Gymnasium. The Cadets fall to 5-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play, while the Mustangs improve to 7-5 overall and 1-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.

Shannon Wood and Amanda Bolio led Mount Ida's scoring effort, recording 18 and 16 points respectively.  Katie Morvan pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for the Mustangs.

Curry shot 8-of-17 from the field, including an impressive 4-of-9 from behind the arc. She also converted seven free throws. Kelsey Lotti and Jocelyn Fasulo chipped in nine and eight points respectively.

The Cadets will look to get back on the winning track when the travel to play Pine Manor in a conference clash on Jan. 10 at 2 p.m.
