UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH - A huge second half by the Medaille College women's basketball team turned an eight point halftime deficit into a (78-63) runaway road victory over John Carroll University for the Lady Mavs.  They have now won six straight heading back into AMCC play.

The Lady Mavs had struggled to find any offense in their last win but this evening's game would play out much differently as four different Medaille players would reach double figures in the scoring column.

Leading the way for Medaille was Joelle Pollak who continued to score at a torrid pace by netting a game high (21) points to go along with (4) assists. She leads the Lady Mavs with (17.8) points per game thus far this season.   A career high (16) points was registered by rookie Alicia Montalvo while Meghan Dougherty also chipped in with (16) points, knocking down (3 of 5) shots from behind the arc.  Montalvo also pulled down five boards and dished out a pair of assists.

The battle of the boards went the way of the Lady Mavs as well as they outrebounded John Carroll (44-37) with Taneda Travis matching a game high with (12) boards, she also netted (10) points on (3 of 6) shooting from the floor.  Her sister Tanisha Travis pulled down nine caroms on the night which gives her (600) for her career, she becomes just the 7th player in program history to reach that milestone.

The game was decided in the lane as the Lady Mavs dominated the paint, outscoring the home team (24-8) in the post.  They outshot John Carroll (46.4%) to (33.9%) overall for the game and were also hot from downtown as they connected on (9 of 20) long range shots, finishing at (45.0%).  They also converted their chances from the charity stripe, going (17 for 20) for a tremendous (85.0%) night.

The win keeps Medaille rolling as they are now (7-3) on the year.  They will head to Hilbert College on Wednesday (1/4) for an 8:00pm matchup with the Hawks in conference play.
