LEHMAN (PA) – Delaware Valley College improved to 6-3 on the season as the Aggies finished off the first semester of play with a 74-43 victory at Penn State Wilkes-Barre.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Delaware Valley which is now off until January 2 when it takes on Albany College of Pharmacy in the opening round of the Starters/Moravian College Winter Classic.

The Aggies were without two starters on Saturday, but all 10 players that dressed saw at least 16 minutes of action in the contest. Nine of the ten hit the scoring column while their defensive effort held the Lions to 26.5 percent shooting and they forced 30 turnovers.

Delaware Valley took command of the game with a 22-3 run in the first half that turned a 5-4 deficit in to a 26-8 advantage. The Aggies kept the momentum going and took a 50-16 advantage into halftime. They led by as many as 43 in the second half before the 31-point final.

Emily Soper notched 22 points and eight rebounds in 21 minutes of action. Brittany Battinieri, Sarah Delcasale and Melissa Weil had nine points apiece with Delcasale also recording eight assists and six rebounds.

Michele Vowler led Penn State Wilkes-Barre with 14 points while Tiffany Denny had eight points and 10 boards.
