Lady Mavs Cruise Past Pitt-Bradford in AMCC Action

BUFFALO, NY - The Medaille College women's basketball team imposed their will on Pitt-Bradford from the opening tip as they shot lights out in the opening ten minutes, en route to a (77-47) rout of AMCC rival Pitt-Bradford.

The Lady Mavs seemingly knocked down every shot that they took in the games early stages as they jumped out to a (26-4) lead halway through the opening half.  They stretched that lead to (42-16) at the half.

The visitors seemed prime for a comeback in the early portion of the second half as they started to connect on some of their field goal attempts while forcing Medaille into early turnovers that would turn into transition buckets.  However, that would be short lived as Medaille got back into their rhythm and cruised to the win.

Leading the way for Medaille was Joelle Pollak who tallied a game high (20) points while pulling down (7) boards, dishing out (3) assists and swiping (4) steals.  Rookie Alicia Montalvo had a strong outing as well, netting (14) points and grabbing (6) boards, while Taneda Travis came off the bench to score (14) points and gather in (7) caroms.

As a team the Lady Mavs shot (53.7%) from the field for the game, they hit on (47.4%) of their shots from three point range and knocked down (71.4%) of their shots from the charity stripe.

The win evens the Lady Mavs overall record at (3-3) while they improve to (2-1) in AMCC play.  They will look for their third straight win when they host St. Lawrence University on Saturday (12/10) at 1:00pm in a non-conference tilt.
