Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale women's basketball team used a late second half run with seven minutes to play to take a 48-39 conference victory over NYU-Poly (3-3, 0-1). The Rams improved to 2-3, 1-0 in the Skyline with the win.

In the first half, both teams were stuck in a defensive battle, seeing a span of six minutes without a basket. The Jays built up a six point lead before senior Margaux Pickell (Howell, N.J.) added a pair of free throws with 5:37 left to play.

With an eight point NYU-Poly advantage, 17-9, sophomore Tabitha Larsen (Ramsey, N.J.) hit another jumper to increase the lead to ten, but Farmingdale State went on a 9-0 run to end the half and would trail 19-18 at the break.

Senior forward Dominique Cunningham (Amityville, N.Y.) finished with a team-high 13 points. NYU-Poly was led by freshman Catherine Thompson (Spackenkill, N.Y.) who tallied a game-high 20 points.

Farmingdale State forced 22 turnovers, while giving the ball away just 12 times. The Rams also led the rebounding 52-45.

Next up for Farmingdale State is conference rival Old Westbury at home on Wednesday, December 7th at 6:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 8:00 p.m.
