WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Mary Hyde scored 19 points, all in 15 first-half minutes, to help lead Saint Joseph College past Mitchell College, 92-58, Thursday in a non-conference women's basketball game at the O'Connell Center.

Hyde made eight of nine shots including two three-pointers and led five Blue Jays in double figures. Lindsay Feducia had 15 points and six assists for Saint Joseph and Devon Diliberto scored 12. Brianna Ferraro scored 10 points for the Blue Jays and Claire Consonni added 10 points, six rebounds and four assists.

The early stages of the game were closely contested. The Blue Jays did build a 10-point lead, but it was cut to five at 24-19 on a transition layup by freshman Zilka Navarro with 8:54 left in the first half. Saint Joseph (4-1 overall ) then held Mitchell (1-4 overall) scoreless over the next 6:34. Hyde scored nine and Consonni seven in a 23-0 run that put the Blue Jays ahead 47-19.

Saint Joseph shot a blistering 69 percent (20-for-29) from the floor in the first half and made six of eight three-pointers to lead 52-22 at the break. The Blue Jays finished 35-for-69 (51 percent) from the floor and made 10 of 20 three-pointers. Mitchell shot 34 percent (22-for-65).

Freshman Sheanna James scored a team-high 15 points for Mitchell and had a game-high eight rebounds. Senior Bianca Young scored 13 for the Mariners and Navarro added 12.

Mitchell will next play at Connecticut College on Monday, December 5 at 7 p.m.
