Trinity Women's Basketball Beaten At Western Connecticut

Danbury, Conn. - Junior Nicole Eanniello (Danbury, Conn.) scored 22 points to help the Western Connecticut State University Colonial women's basketball team to a 72-48 victory over the visiting Trinity College Bantams this evening at Feldman Arena. Western Connecticut is now 6-0, while Trinity drops to 2-3.

Eanniello got Western on the board first with a three-pointer, but after five minutes of play, the Bantams held a 10-9 lead after a traditional three-point play by senior co-captain guard Kaitlin Ciarleglio (Waterbury, Conn.). Over the next five minutes, the Colonials went on a 12-0 run to take a 21-10 lead after a lay up by sophomore Chelsea Mone (Bristol, Conn.). The Colonials went into the locker room at intermission with a 15-point lead, 42-27.

Also scoring in double figures for Western was freshman Amber Litwinko (Kensington, Conn.) who canned 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field. She also pulled downs a team-high eight rebounds. Stephanie Slonski (Griswold, Conn.) added 10 points and handed out a game-high eight assists.

Trinity senior co-captain guard Michelle Royals (Torrington, Conn.) scored a team-high 14 points while shooting 8-of-12 from the free-throw line. Sophomore forward Shantell Hanniford (Nantucket, Mass.) pulled down a game-high 10 caroms for the Bantams.
