Solid Second Half Leads #11 DePauw to Win over Millikin

DePauw opened the second half with a 20-5 run and pulled away from visiting Millikin on the way to a 64-41 win over the Big Blue. The 11th-ranked Tigers improved to 4-1, while Millikin dropped to 3-3. 

DePauw took a 23-19 lead into the intermission, but scored the first eight points of the second half to take a 31-19 lead. The Tigers still led by nine at 33-24 before scoring nine straight to expand the advantage to 43-24 with 10:42 left. The lead reached as many as 28 points later in the contest.

The Tigers' Katie Aldrich was the lone double-figure scorer in the game with 10 points, while Kate Walker led DePauw with seven rebounds. Kathryn Denbow dished out a team-high four assists in the win.

Cecily Aldridge and Kaitlin Brassil each scored nine for Millikin with Olya Cholewick snagging five rebounds and Beth Wellbaum dishing out four assists.

DePauw shot 43.9 percent for the game including 50 percent in the second half and held the Big Blue to just 30.8 percent.  The Tigers also held a 44-30 edge on the boards.
