NEW LONDON, N.H. – Norwich University battled back from a pair of double-digit deficits in each half but couldn't catch Colby-Sawyer in a 67-56 non-conference loss Nov. 17.

Coach Mark Zacher's squad found itself trailing the host Chargers by as much as 15 in the latter stages of the opening frame. However, the Cadets (0-2) used a 12-3 run over the final 4:26 to cut the margin to 32-26 at halftime. CSC re-opened the advantage to 57-40 with less than 10 minutes to go in regulation, but a 13-2 roll made it 59-53 with 6:24 to play. NU could get no closer down the stretch.

Senior guard Karissa Doyon (Beecher Falls, Vt.) recorded her second consecutive 20-point-plus outing with 22 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot. Freshman Aliah Curry (Windsor, Ct.) added to the Maroon and Gold's frontcourt success with 16 points, two steals and four rebounds. Freshman post player Katrina Laidlaw (Dunblaine, Scotland) led the way on the boards with nine rebounds.

NU continues a busy opening week by playing in the Amherst College of Massachusetts tournament Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19 and 20. The Cadets face top-ranked and tourney host Amherst at 6 p.m. Saturday.
