Sophomore Misha Jackson and freshman Hannah Lilly combined for 39 points and 18 rebounds in helping the Emory women's basketball team to a win at Carnegie Mellon Sunday afternoon.  The Eagles upped their overall record to 11-13, 4-9 in the University Athletic Association following a 77-54 verdict over the Tartans who slumped to 2-22 overall, 0-13 in the league.

Jackson's point total tied her season high as she connected on eight-of-12 from the floor and five-of-seven from the charity stripe in registering her 10th double-figure scoring game of the year and third of 20 or more points.  Jackson also pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds and chalked up her in first double-double of the year in the process.  Lilly finished with 18 points, her high for a conference game and third-highest total of the campaign. Included in her six field goals were four three-pointers that tied her high for the year.  Sophomore Danielle Landry rounded out the club's double-digit scorers with 13 points while snatching nine rebounds.

Emory never trailed in the game and built a 42-22 halftime lead with Jackson and Lilly tallying 12 and 11 points, respectively, in the first half.  Holding a 19-16 lead with 10:35 left in the opening stanza, the Eagles held CMU scoreless for over eight minutes while scoring 18 unanswered points in surging to a 37-16 bulge. Lilly and Jackson each notched six points during that stretch while juniors Becca Feldman and Melissa Koike each picked up three points.  Though CMU outshot the Emory from the floor during the opening 20 minutes of play, the Eagles knocked down five three-point field goals while the Tartans were empty handed in that category.  Emory also forced 19 CMU miscues that it turned into 12 points.

Carnegie managed to draw to within 11 points on two occasions in the second half, the final time with 11:00 left on the clock.  The Eagles responded with six straight points that boosted their advantage to 59-42 with 8:03 remaining.  Emory closed out the last 4:04 of the contest on a 13-4 scoring burst that increased a 14-point cushion to the final margin of 23.

Emory returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 26) when it closes out the year by hosting the University of Rochester in a 2:00 p.m. start.
