GAMBIER, Ohio – Saturday afternoon at the Tomisch Arena was not kind to the Gators (15-9, 9-5 NCAC) as the Ladies (14-11, 8-6 NCAC) of Kenyon College earned the season-series sweep by dominating the second half of the game, outscoring the Gators 38-19 in the frame en route to handing the Gators a 29-point road loss, 73-44.

The loss in the regular season finale breaks the tie for second-place in the NCAC that the Gators had going into today's action with Ohio Wesleyan, and now despite the outcome of the Bishops game, the Gators will be the three-seed in the tournament and will host one of the four quarterfinal games on Tuesday, February 22nd.

Similar to the Gators' most recent loss to no. 11 Denison University, an active defense by Kenyon forced numerous turnovers that proved to be too much for the Gators to overcome. For the game, the Ladies' defense forced 24 turnovers, coming away with 16 steals in the process. The Ladies were also able to turn those turnovers into 26 points on the other end of the court.

Allegheny was also on the losing end of the battle for the boards with the Ladies finishing with a 45-36 advantage. The biggest impact of the rebounding discrepancy was felt on the offensive glass. The Ladies pulled down 19 offensive boards leading to 18 second chance points to the Gators' nine offensive rebounds and seven second chance points.

The Gators' leading scorer Heidi Goeller maintained her scoring average against the Ladies as she led the way for the team with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting.  Freshman guard Erica Restich picked up her third double-double of the year as she pulled down a team-high 10 boards to match her 10-point afternoon. Sophomore Daryl Ford had a productive day in terms of scoring and rebounding, finishing with eight a piece.

As the three-seed in the NCAC tournament, the Gators will host the quarterfinal round game at home against the sixth-place finisher. Heading into today's slate of games, Hiram College was the sixth seed. The NCAC will release the 2010-11 Women's NCAC Tournament bracket following the conclusion of all games played on Saturday.  Complete tournament information and coverage can be found at the NCAC's website: http://www2.northcoast.org/

Regardless of opponent, tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the David V. Wise Center. Admission for the game will be $7 for adults.
