WAVERLY - Maddy Sadeckie and Samantha Harrington combined for 30 points and six 3-pointers and Wartburg came from 17 down in the first half for an 83-74 win over Simpson on Saturday.

Sadeckie and Harrington each scored 15 points for the Knights (20-3, 11-3 Iowa Conference), who beat Simpson at Levick Arena for the second year in a row.

Sadeckie went 5-for-5 from beyond the arc, as Wartburg made 11 of 16 3-pointers on the day. Stephanie Reiter and Carly Jacobs finished with 13 apiece and Harrington added six assists.

Stacey Schutjer went for 17 points and seven rebounds for the Storm (18-5, 12-2), who lost for the second time in three games. After building a 16-game winning streak, Simpson suffered its first conference loss last Saturday, an 81-79 setback against Coe.

Amy Hamilton scored 16, going 4-for-6 from 3-point range. Ali Sokol added 10.

With two games remaining in the regular season and both Coe and Simpson sitting with two losses in the league, the Kohawks (20-3, 12-2) hold the tiebreaker for the No. 1 seed in the Iowa Conference Tournament and home-court advantage throughout.

Trailing 28-11 with 8:43 remaining in the first half, a 3-pointer by Reiter ignited a 50-19 Wartburg run over the next 17 minutes. Reiter closed the run with another 3, resulting in a 61-47 lead with 11:27 left in the game.

Simpson rode the hot hand of Hamilton early, who scored 11 points and hit three 3s in the first 11 minutes.

The Storm close the regular season next week with a pair of home games, beginning with a 6 p.m. matchup against Buena Vista at Cowles Fieldhouse on Wednesday. Simpson beat the Beavers (11-12, 7-7) in the first matchup, 77-76 on Jan. 17 in Storm Lake.
