Cougars Snap Three Game Losing Streak in OT

PITTSBURGH, PA (February 2, 2011) . . . Sophomore Colleen Kiss (McKeesport, PA/Oakland Catholic) made a three-pointer at the buzzer in regulation to send the Chatham University women's basketball team into overtime tonight against visiting Grove City College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action. The Cougars would go on to earn the victory tonight in overtime 64-60.

 

Chatham led by five at halftime and was outscored by their opponents 30-25 in the second half, tying the score at 52 after 40 minutes of play. The Cougars out-scored Grove City 12-8 in the overtime frame to earn the conference victory.

 

The Cougars were led by Sonjia Hoston (Homestead, PA/Wilkinsburg), who finished the game with a total of 13 points on 6-7 field goal shooting. Seniors Kayla Hilko (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) and Courtney Smith (Round Hill, VA/Loudoun Valley) each finished with 11 points tonight. Nine of Smith's 11 points were from behind the three-point arc.

 

Chatham (7-13, 3-9) returns to action on Sunday, February 5th as they travel to Westminster College (PA) for a 2 pm PAC match-up.
