(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College women's basketball team debuted as the No. 1-ranked team tonight (Tuesday, January 25, 2011) with a 90-40 win over Chatham University in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints remain undefeated at 18-0 overall and 10-0 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Cougars fall to 6-12 overall and 2-8 in the PAC.

Thomas More raced out to a 15-4 lead with 15:09 to play in the first half when senior forward Amy Stultz (Amelia, Ohio/McNicholas) made a three-pointer.  Chatham responded with an 8-5 run to cut the lead to 20-12 when Colleen Kiss made a three-pointer with 12:17 to play in the half.  The Saints then closed out the half on a 30-12 run capped by a jumper by freshman guard Katie Kitchen (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) with two-seconds to play in the half to take a 50-24 lead at halftime.

The Saints opened the second half on a 20-4 run to take a 70-28 lead with 12:02 to play in the game on a lay-up by freshman guard Emily Sanker (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart).  Chatham then got a three-pointer by Kayla Hilko to cut the lead to 70-31 with 11:32 to play in the game.  Thomas More then closed out the half on a 20-9 run capped by two free-throws by sophomore guard Lauren Hargett (Verona, Ky./Walton Verona) with 42-seconds to play in the game for the 90-40 victory.

12 of the Saints reached the scoring column in the game and were led by sophomore guard Allison Long (Hebron, Ky./Conner) with 14 points and freshman forward Moriah Corey (Louisville, Ky./Butler) with 11 points.  Sophomore forward/center Katie Kees (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mother of Mercy) led the team on the boards with six rebounds.

The Saints return to action on Saturday (January 29) when they travel to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania to play Westminster College at 2 p.m.
